Probably one of our favourite events on the car show calendar, Grill-n-Chill is exactly what it says on the tin, a chilled out VW show with a loads of other cool old metal thrown in. Held at the Hop Farm in Kent, it not only has enough cool cars and autojumble to keep the car nuts entertained it also has tonnes of trade stands and all the attractions of the hop farm including petting zoo and play areas to keep the kids happy.
Grill-n-Chill is a weekend affair which includes the usual show and shine on the Sunday but also some brilliant evening entertainment. Friday night saw a battle of the DJ’s and Saturday night was an ABBA tribute act which drew such a crowd it had a one in one out policy on the door (for ABBA!).
The show and shine on Sunday always fills up fast so early arrival is a must in order to get lined up and it always turns out an eclectic mix of vehicles as I say Grill-n-Chill is predominately a VW show but does get great support from hotrod and custom car clubs locally.
Favourites from us were the awesome Baja Beetle panned Fiat 126, yeah its wrong, but it works and a Unimog because who doesn’t want to see a slammed bug next to a mahosive Unimog?
Here are a few of my favourites from the show, excuse the quality I’m a pro Iphone photographer…..
